The Royal Arch (or 'Chapter') is the fourth and final stage in Pure Antient Masonry, as defined in the Act of Union of 1813 that created the United Grand Lodge of England. It is intrinsically linked to The Craft, such that the Royal Arch is an integral part of our Masonic experience.
Joining the Royal Arch involves a new ceremony which is said to be the completion of Craft Masonry. This sees members follow the clues from the Third Degree to complete their journey in a spectacular and unforgettable ceremony of ‘Exaltation’.
Through ongoing participation, members will work together with old friends and new Companions to build on the principles of the Craft and unlock fresh perspectives on the meaning and value of Freemasonry.
Within the District Grand Chapter of Gibraltar, (constituted under the Supreme Grand Chapter), three Chapters exist dating as far back as the 19th Century, all of which are attached to their respective Craft Lodges (the name and number is taken from that Lodge).
