Every meeting consists of two parts: the Lodge first meets in the temple, before dining at the aptly named ‘festive board’. This usually takes place in the dining hall of the GMI.
The meal is an important part of every meeting, where all those present can enjoy each other’s company, meet new and old friends, and toast to those important to us. The Grand Master (HRH The Duke of Kent), Brethren who cannot be with us, and newly joined members, make up just a few of these toasts.
Drinks are often enjoyed after the meal at our (exceptionally cheap!) bar (with prices subsidised by membership fees).
In most Lodges in Gibraltar, the ‘ostensible steward’ orders the meal from the GMI caterer. Most importantly, however, they are responsible for ensuring all visitors enjoy their evening and are well looked after.
The GMI menu is attached for the attention of all ostensible stewards.
